Our Tea Offerings

Teabottlecap

I'd never had a cup of tea until I sat down with Doug Palas, the tea buyer for Intelligentsia. Oh sure, I've had tea in a teabag from the grocery store but his tea was a totally new experience for me. If you're like I was you may never have experienced the flavor of a true cup of full-leaf tea brewed from natural, organic, whole leaves.

When I came home I started adding "& tea" to all of our signs, not as an afterthought but more like an epiphany. So from now on you'll see Moko Coffee & Tea on as many signs as I could practically change, and you'll be able to buy organic full-leave tea from Intelligentsia. Our tea is simply better tasting and more flavorful than the tea dust you will find in your grocery store tea bags. And the best part is that brewing fresh organic tea leaves is as easy as boiling water.

Doug put together a nice selection of teas for us and we'll be adding more as we go forward. You can visit the Intelly site to see their entire inventory of teas that we can order for you or just follow the link below to see what we have in stock now.

Espresso & Espresso Drinks

Blackcat Espresso  A single or double shot of the critically acclaimed Black Cat espresso blend from Intelligentsia. We use a 21 gram triple basket to deliver a ristretto style serving of just 1.5oz. to 1.75oz. per single. In other words a shot of pure coffee essence.

Espresso Macchiato A single or double shot of Black Cat espresso blend in a demitasse, topped off with a small dollop of foamed. If you like it with mostly foam ask for a "dry", or if you prefer mostly milk ask for a "wet".

Free-pour macchiato Moko's newest drink addition. We use a slightly larger demitase cup, a 3oz. vs. the 2oz. size, that we normally use for the traditional macchiato, the result is the perfect mix of espresso and steamed milk.

Espresso con Panna  Black Cat espresso topped with a dollop of whipped cream.

Cortado  Black Cat espresso "cut" with an equal amount of steamed milk and served in a 5oz. glass. If you ask for it "all the way up", we'll fill it to the top and try to do a little latte art for you.

Latte  Espresso and steamed milk with just a touch of foam makes for a silky adult milk shake. Make it vanilla flavored if you like.

Latte Macchiato  An upside down latte. We pour the espresso in last and as blends with the milk and foam it makes a really pretty looking drink so if you order for here we serve it to you in a pint glass. Go ahead and a add vanilla and whipped cream if you want and we can even drizzle some caramel sauce on top.

Mocha Latte   We blend rich Omanhene cocoa syrup, espresso, steamed milk and foam to create our Moko Mocha latte. Don't forget the whipped cream.

Traditional Cappuccino  A smaller drink that we serve in a 6oz. demitasse. It more closely resembles a cappuccino you might have in Europe. The proportions are 1/3 espresso, 1/3 steamed milk and 1/3 foam and it's the original drink that the American coffee house style "Capp" is based on.

Cappuccino  The king of coffee house drinks. We start with our Black Cat espresso, then pour a creamy blend of milk and foam into it pulling the espresso up to the top of the cup so it appears to streak the foam.

Americano  Espresso and hot water.

Coffee of the Day  We're always brewing something different from Intelligentsia, usually a couple of selections plus a decafe.
